Help and Advice: Specialty Doctor in ENT

26 July 2010

Consultant Job plans

These are Job Plans for New Jobs for RPSAs to approve. They are not rigid but give a yardstick for timetables.

As time goes by, the jobs will change for both Consultants and Speciality Doctors.(SD). An SD cannot do unsupervised work when appointed. When they reach the top of level 3 after 17 years in post, then independent work may be incorporated into the job plan. A consultant Rhinologist may develop an anterior skull base referral practice and move from 4 clinics to 3 or 2 and increase the operating sessions as needed.
