About ENT•UK

ENT UK trading as the British Academic Conference in Otolaryngology (BACO) and the British Association of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (BAO-HNS), is the result of an amalgamation between the British Association of Otorhinolaryngologists – Head and Neck Surgeons and the British Academic Conference in Otolaryngology. Its objectives are “The advancement for the public benefit of education, training and research in the fields of otorhinolaryngology – head and neck surgery; the relief of patients suffering from diseases in the ear, nose and throat and related areas.” ENT UK commenced trading on 1st October 2008.

ENT UK is registered as a Company limited by Guarantee in England and Wales under Company No 06452601 and is registered with the Charity Commission in England and Wales under Charity No 1125524.

Today ENT•UK represents over 1,300 medical practitioners including surgeons, trainees and audiologists. The main activities of ENT•UK are to:

  • Improve the care available to patients suffering from conditions of the ear, nose, throat, head and neck
  • Promote the understanding of the range of conditions treated by the specialty
  • Provide information on the specialty to the general public and media
  • Encourage and support research within the specialty
  • Support and provide continuing education for specialists
  • Encourage recruitment into the specialty
  • Promote high standards in the training of specialists
  • Represent the specialty at the Royal Colleges of Surgeons and to government bodies.
